A new Sitcom: Half scripted, half reality nightmare - LA County ... As Real As Comedy Gets (LAC). Situated in the hills of Los Angeles, the solar energy company gets into all sorts of scrapes and troubles as it takes Los Angeles off-the-grid. LAC will hire actors to work three main characters:

  • The Solar Salesman - Matt - The pastor next door. A geek that sells.
  • The Solar Administrator - Erick - fireband latino working to be president
  • The Solar Installer - Mike - part super tool guy, part bible thumper, part just wants everyone to be friends

The Solar Board - usually talking about other stuff (these guys are cartoons - like catdog's wild inventions)

The Solar Retail Store - in hip Hermosa Beach

The comedy is dealing with Los Angeles County officials. These scenes always start with the sincere hard work of The Solar Trio and then, as comedy arises, turns into a cartoon. The cartoon representation of the politicians, bureaucrats and city inspectors gives extreme artistic license to get the point of the show across. In the minds of The Solar Trio, the reality of working with Los Angeles County officials is a sitcom.

    Act I, Scene I

    Location: Hermosa beach solar store.

    ERICK

(Erick has the phone to his ear, the computer screen has a Los Angeles County website with phone number clearly shown. The camera zooms into Erick for the opening scene as he says...)

"Hi, This is Erick. I would like to pull a solar a permit. Could you tell me your address and the process?"

(Enter Mike and Matt to get their day started. Mike is dressed to install, Matt is dress to go to the beach)

"Hi guys, I'm headed to LA County"

(Theme music plays ... Same scene every opening)
